Lexis have confirmed that the problems preventing Shibboleth authentication on the Lexis Library and Nexis services have now been resolved.
Access to those services is now working normally again – and information in eSearch has been updated accordingly.
If you encounter any further difficulties accessing either service, please send full details to the eServices team (including any on-screen error messages).
Due to technical problems affecting the Lexis Shibboleth service, it is currently not possible to login to either the LexisLibrary or Nexis UK service. Requests to login resolve to the following error message:
Your attempt to sign in to the LexisNexis® services via Federated Access has failed.
Lexis’s technical team is working to resolve the issue, and a further update will follow once access has been restored. Service icons, and customer notices, indicating the existence of this problem have been added to eSearch.
The problem preventing links from Science Direct to SFX (Find it @ NTU) from resolving correctly reported on 26 January has now been corrected by Elsevier. Connections from Science Direct to SFX are now working normally.
The SFX Knowledge Base has been updated to ensure that all newspapers and electronic journals that were previously individually listed on the Lexis Nexis Executive platform now redirect to Nexis UK. As all of the European Lexis platforms are still not yet OpenURL compliant, all of the title links only resolve the customer to the ‘homepage’ of the platform.
LexisNexis have now resolved the issue which was preventing Athens authenticated access by NTU staff and students to the new LexisNexis Business and News platform (which absorbs the LexisNexis Executive service). Access to LexisNexis Business and News (which requires Athens authentication both on-campus and off-campus) has now been set up in eSearch. The resource is described as follows:
A news and business-intelligence service which includes full-text newspapers, journals, market research and country reports, corporate profiles and government documents. Also includes legislation and case law for the United Kingdom and Europe.
As a result, LexisNexis Executive has now been withdrawn from eSearch – but database title searches in eSearch for ‘LexisNexis Executive’ or ‘Lexis Nexis Executive’ will retrieve LexisNexis Business and News.
Following the withdrawal of the full-text of Le Monde from Lexis Nexis Executive, LLR sourced an alternative provider for this title on the CEDROM SNi platform. Lexis Nexis have now made Le Monde available again in full-text on LNE. An additional SFX link to Le Monde on LNE should be available shortly
