The access URL for the free-to-use WildPro service has been updated in Library OneSearch. The new URL is immediately available in the Find Databases service and will be reflected in the main search record for WildPro shortly. Access to the service remains unrestricted on-campus and off-campus.
The resource is described as follows:
Information on captive and free-ranging wild animals from the Wildlife Information Network. Modules contain data on individual species, chemicals & physical factors which cause environmental and/or health issues, diseases, best practice guidelines and habitat information. Includes a number of full-text books.
Some further refinements to the library’s new subscription to the Scopus service are now live.
Cross-searchability: it is now possible to remote-search (or metasearch) the Scopus database direct from within Library OneSearch (by adding Scopus to your list of ‘Selected databases’ in the ‘Find databases’ screen)
SFX button display: the library’s ‘Find it @ NTU’ SFX button is now displaying in all results screens in Scopus. As the image size required by Scopus is smaller than the actual size of the standard ‘Find it @ NTU’ image, a trimmed-down version of the button has been added to the interface
Access to The Vogue Archive is now available in Library OneSearch and eSearch. Access is direct on-campus and by university username and password from off-campus. The resource is described as follows:
A complete searchable archive of American Vogue, from the first issue in 1892 to the current month, reproduced in high-resolution color page images. Every page, advertisement, cover and fold-out has been included, with rich indexing enabling you to find images by garment type, designer and brand names. The Vogue Archive preserves the work of the world’s greatest fashion designers, stylists and photographers and is a unique record of American and international fashion, culture and society from the dawn of the modern era to the present day.
The metasearch configuration for the Institute of Physics platform has been upgraded in Library OneSearch (and in eSearch) so that the search results are retrieved and displayed directly within the LOS and eSearch interfaces (rather than remotely through the IoP site).
Off-campus access to the Verdict Research service (via university username and password) has now been restored.
Information in eSearch and Library OneSearch has been updated accordingly.
A technical problem preventing metasearching in eSearch and the searching of ‘Selected Databases’ in Library OneSearch has now been resolved. The same problem had also been preventing customers from accessing My eSearch in eSearch.
The services are currently being monitored closely to confirm the continued stability of the service.
Please contact Lib eServices if you encounter any further access problems to databases searching – either in LOS or eSearch.
