Issue affecting DOI (Digital Object Identifier) resolution resolved

A problem affecting the global DOI (Digital Object Identifier) resolution system, provided by the service has now been resolved.

An issue arose yesterday (20 January 2015) which meant that requests to the DOI HTTP resolver at (for example for a clickable version of a DOI such as were not been routed through to the current destination URL for that DOI. Instead, users were directed to a generic error page for the domain.

The issue has now been resolved, and requests to the service are now being resolved normally. A detailed explanation for the outage has been published on the CrossTech blog.
