HeinOnline – new collections activated in SFX

Five new collections of Hein Online ejournal and eBook content have been activated in SFX. These materials have been previously accessible through the HeinOnline interface, but not discoverable as individual items through SFX.

• Hein Online Federal Register Library (9 titles)
• Hein Online Legal Classics (1,235 titles)
• HeinOnline Treaties and Agreements Library (32 titles)

HeinOnline – off-campus authentication now via Shibboleth

Off-campus authentication to the HeinOnline database is now by university username and password (using Shibboleth). Links and prompts in eSearch and SFX have been updated accordingly. Implementation decisions by HeinOnline mean that Athens based authentication to HeinOnline is no longer available to Nottingham Trent University staff and students, despite the existence of an Athens login option in the HeinOnline interface. Off-campus customers accessing HeinOnline through eSearch will be directed to the appropriate Shibboleth login screen.

HeinOnline: technical difficulties resolved

The technical difficulties experienced by the HeinOnline legal database service earlier in the week have now been resolved. HeinOnline reports that their “systems have returned to normal and are functioning at full capacity.” Please contact eServices if you experience any continuing difficulties with access or functionality.

eServices will update, once HeinOnline has confirmed the resolution of these problems.

HeinOnline: new interface launched

The legal database HeinOnline launched a new interface at the end of May, to support a range of presentational, navigational and functional enhancements. Information for users of the service about the changes can be found here – including a 9min Flash presentation (which includes audio narration). On-campus access URLs to the service have been revised in LLR’s resource discovery environment to match changes on the site. Off-campus access URLs, and SFX links remain unaffected.
